Who wants to do my laundry? Luckily, this list isn’t about my clothing laundry but my gaming list. I think all gamers suffer from having a laundry list or backlog as some call it. I’m usually pretty good with mine up until recent. Let’s go into detail over my dilemma and please leave your comments and experiences below.
Around Christmas, a lot of games had come out that I wanted. Being the easy shopper that I am, I asked for games, movies, and some other odds and ends. I didn’t think that I’d get a majority of the games I asked for but I did. Not only did I receive a lot of games, I spoiled myself and purchased some good deal games that weren’t on my list. Thinking I wasn’t getting many games for Christmas, I ordered anything I saw that wasn’t on the list with a good deal, usually $40 or less. Mistake number one.
Skip ahead about 2 months to late February or beginning of March. My backlog still exists when I start debating about purchasing my own Xbox360 rather than play my friends. Here I am, standing in the middle of Best Buy with a Xbox360, extra controller, and Left 4 Dead looking like I’m going to run out the door at any moment but actually having an argument in my mind if I should make the purchase. I decide against it and put everything back. Less than two weeks later, I made the purchase. Mistake number two.
What happens when a guy gets a new toy? He plays the crap out of it and that’s exactly what I was doing with the Xbox360. I only had the two games that came with the 360 and Left 4 Dead and decided to upgrade my library. Figuring that a lot of the games are fairly cheap at this point, I’d pick up a few more titles. The few turned into more and I have 2 games left in my roster I still want to pick up. While I finished some the Christmas/ordered games, I was no where close to clearing the current backlog and adding some 360 games didn’t help. Mistake number three.
I normally play games at my home but I was bringing my 360 over to my girlfriend’s, usually leaving it there. She was/is enjoying Fable 2 so this gave her time to play while I’m at work. Because we both have newer TV’s, I was using the HDMI cable for the PS3 on my 360, leaving my PS3 cableless. I decided to play the PS3 at home when I had forgotten that I don’t have the HDMI cord to use and due to laziness, I didn’t pick up a second one until much later. This caused no change to my PS3 backlog except neglect. Mistake number four.
A few mistakes and I caused gaming chaos. Here’s the list of games I have yet to finish or even start to play:
Call of Duty: World at War (PS3)
Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3)
Resistance 2 (PS3)
Heavenly Sword (PS3)
Mirror’s Edge (PS3)
Valkyria Chronicles (PS3)
Fable 2 (360)
Resident Evil 5 (360)
Dead Rising (360)
Crackdown (360)
Halo 3 (360)
Gears of War 2 (360)

I have often regretted picking up games when they first come out. There are more video games out now than ever before and there are still games from last generation I never played. I can only play so many
It’s often a bad idea to purchase a game on launch day unless it’s something like Halo 3 or GTA IV, etc. that you already know you will love. Right now there are a ton of good and even great games you can pick up for $20 and $30.
Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) is also on my list to do.
