Now — we admit — this is a weird one. And we’ve had some weird news on the site before, trust us. But since we’re in a recession (some of us like to call it a “depression”), discussing the value of food is important…right?
Anyway, JoelTheGreat took it upon himself to dissect Quiznos’ new marketing campaign featuring their $4 “Torpedo” sandwiches as compared to Subway’s “$5 Foot-Longs.”
Clearly Quiznos’ dollar-cheaper sandwich was meant to take on Subway, but Joel suggests (with mathematics galore) that you actually get 75% more sandwich when you spend a dollar more on Subway’s options. Admittedly, Quiznos’ campaign worked on this writer so they must be doing something right at marketing…has it fooled you?
We can see Subway’s ad team scribbling down new ammo for their next commercials, already.

Whatever, we just had a torpedo and we just have to laugh. There torpedo is nothing compared to Subway(size)………..yeah, the bread was good but I think it was a 3 year old holding the ad from the paper. Shame on Quizno’s for making the public think that their sandwich is bigger then Subway!!!

I tried it and thought it was good but, yes,
it’s definitely a wicked attempt at making
you think you’re getting a better deal than
Subway.

Subway just pisses me off…. my hate for them really started with all the Jared Fogle crap. That fat bastard didn’t lose all that weight from Subway alone. I’m actually more of a Qiznos kinda person myself. Their subs are fresher and have more flavor to them.
